Play begins today with 32 players competing for eight available spots in the singles main draw.
The Braswell brothers will be a storyline to watch Monday, with all three competing in the qualifying draw. Micah Braswell, the 2022 tournament champion and former University of Texas All-American, enters as the No. 10 qualifying seed and faces fellow American William McEwan with a wildcard on Stadium Court. His brother Jonah Braswell, a Texas Longhorn and the 2024 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, takes on No. 2 seed Khololwam Montsi of South Africa. Youngest brother Jeremiah Braswell, who joined the Texas men’s tennis program in January after training at IMG Academy, enters as a wildcard and meets No. 5 seed Cosme Rolland de Ravel of France.
Top qualifying seed Gabriel Debru of France, the 2022 French Open boys’ singles champion, opens play on Stadium Court against American wildcard Zachary Fuchs. Debru has reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 233. Other notable first-round matchups include No. 3 seed Evan Bynoe of the United States against Japan’s Shu Matsuoka as well as No. 7 seed Jerry Roddick against fellow American Teodor Davidov, a 16-year-old known for his unusual playing style featuring forehands from both sides.
