The Greenview Development & Majestic Realty Men’s Pro Tennis Open concludes today with a singles championship matchup between No. 1 seed Alastair Gray and French qualifier Cosme Rolland de Ravel, while the DropShot Series Women’s Pro Tennis Open gets underway with its opening round of qualifying.
Gray enters the championship after battling through two three-set matches, including a 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-2 quarterfinal victory over University of Texas standout Sebastian Gorzny. The Brit also defeated Li Tu in straight sets before ending qualifier Dominick Mosejczuk’s run in Saturday’s semifinals.
On the other side of the net, Rolland de Ravel has worked his way from the qualifying draw all the way to the championship match, knocking out No. 2 seed Raphael Perot and 19-year-old Benjamin Willwerth along the way. The Frenchman then brought defending champion Lui Maxted’s title defense to an end in Saturday’s semifinals, securing his place in Sunday’s final.
As the men’s tournament wraps up, the DropShot Series Women’s Pro Tennis Open begins with a 32-player qualifying draw competing for eight spots in the main draw. The field is led by No. 1 qualifying seed Varvara Lepchenko, a former world No. 19, No. 2 seed Ella McDonald and No. 3 seed Rasheeda McAdoo.
