French qualifier Cosme Rolland de Ravel captured the Greenview Development & Majestic Realty Men’s Pro Tennis Open singles title Sunday, defeating No. 1 seed Alastair Gray of Great Britain 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 in the championship match at Courtyard Racquet Club.
Gray entered the championship as the tournament’s top seed, having defeated Spencer Johnson, Li Tu, and University of Texas standout Sebastian Gorzny on his way to the semifinals. His quarterfinal against Gorzny proved particularly competitive, with Gray coming from a set down to win 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-2. He then defeated qualifier Dominick Mosejczuk 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the final.
Rolland de Ravel’s run began with a first-round upset of No. 2 seed Raphael Perot, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. He followed with straight-set victories over wildcard Mason Vaughan (6-3, 6-1) and Benjamin Willwerth (6-3, 6-2) to reach the semifinals. There, he ended defending champion Lui Maxted’s title defense in a three-set battle, 6-4, 6-7(2), 6-2, to secure his place in the final.
In Sunday’s championship, Gray claimed the opening set 7-5 before Rolland de Ravel responded with consecutive 6-3 sets to complete his qualifier-to-champion run and close out the inaugural men’s ITF tournament at Courtyard Racquet Club.

Rolland de Ravel and Gray both attended TCU.
