There’s a little bit of everything Tuesday at the H-E-B Women’s Pro Tennis Open at the Texas Tennis Center in Austin. Kicking off play at 10 a.m. is the second and final round of singles qualifying, where all top eight seeds, including No. 1 Daria Kuczer of Poland, advanced on Monday. Also hoping to qualify are Longhorns Eszter Meri, Vivian Ovrootsky and Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo.
The singles’ main draw begins play in the afternoon, with four first-round matches. On Court 1, second-seeded Anastasia Tikhonova will face Gabriela Lee of Romania, who was an all-Big 12 player at Texas Tech. On Court 5, seventh-seeded Gabriela Knutson of Czechia will face Malaika Rapolu, a former Longhorn who grew up in the Austin area. Also in action are Jamie Loeb vs. Victoria Hu, and Jaimee Fourlis vs. U.S.C. standout Madison Sieg. The afternoon lineup features four doubles matchups, with top-seeded Whitney Osuigwe and Alana Smith facing fellow Americans Mirabelle Tahiri and Adaugo Ukaegbu on Court 3.
